The Tardins — A Heartwarming Film Created by an International Production Team, Enters Post-Production

Jun 9, 2026

Recently, The Tardins, a feature film co-directed by Chinese American filmmaker Crystal J. Huang and Jeffree Brown, has officially entered its post-production phase. The project is jointly produced by several Chinese and international film and media companies, including Jellywood Films, JC Enterprises (US), Unchaseable (US), and FlyLing Media, among others.

Centered on the themes of loss and reunion, the film blends comedy, action, and mystery elements to tell a touching story of family redemption and reconciliation. The plot follows three down-on-their-luck brothers whose lives have taken very different paths. When their mother's longtime family home faces foreclosure and a forced bank auction, the estranged siblings are compelled to reunite. What begins as a desperate attempt to save their childhood home gradually spirals into a series of unexpected and often hilarious adventures, while long-buried family conflicts rise to the surface. Ultimately, the crisis becomes an opportunity for the brothers to overcome their differences and rediscover the bonds that once connected them.

As both producer and co-director of the film, Crystal J. Huang brings a distinctive international perspective shaped by her upbringing in China and her professional roots in California. For The Tardins, she skillfully combines the emotional subtlety of Eastern storytelling with the fast-paced rhythm of Western comedy, creating a unique artistic vision. Her production company, Unchaseable, has long been dedicated to supporting original projects driven by international cultural perspectives.

Co-director Jeffree Brown contributes extensive experience both in front of and behind the camera. Accomplished as an actor, screenwriter, and director, his notable works include Bye Bye Kitty. His deep understanding of character-driven storytelling and commitment to independent filmmaking help bring authenticity and depth to the film's ensemble cast, strengthening the emotional core beneath its comedic surface.

According to the production team, The Tardins is being filmed primarily in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Development began in 2024, with principal production and post-production scheduled for completion in 2027. Spanning more than three years, the project reflects the filmmakers' commitment to excellence at every stage and is expected to be released to audiences worldwide in 2027.

As a co-producer, Ms. Xue Zhang, founder of FlyLing Media Inc. and FlyLing International Media, has provided significant support to the project, including assembling a professional production team featuring Visual Arts Director Wanjun Cao. Renowned young cinematographer Yujian Cui, who has previously collaborated with the team on multiple occasions, expressed his hope to join the production during its later stages, bringing additional international talent and creative expertise to the project.

As an independent film that embraces both Eastern and Western cultural influences, The Tardins explores the timeless theme of family relationships through a lighthearted and entertaining lens. Beyond delivering laughter and heartfelt moments to audiences worldwide, the film aims to convey a message of warmth, forgiveness, and connection that transcends cultural boundaries, offering a fresh model for international film collaboration and storytelling.
